Eräjoppa Outdoor & Adventure offers guided nature activities in the Helsinki metropolitan area and Uusimaa. The selection includes guided forest hikes, hiking courses, trail running, and outdoor bouldering, and we’ll soon be adding outdoor rope climbing and rappelling to our lineup. Most activities are organized based on demand, so feel free to contact us with your requests, and we’ll arrange a suitable time and location.

Forest excursions and the beginner's hiking course will also be available for general sale, and you can reserve a spot directly on the event page.

  • A day trip to a national park with a guide. We’ll hike at a leisurely pace through the wilderness, explore the local nature, and stop at a campfire site. We’ll cook our packed lunches over the fire, and the day will of course include traditional campfire coffee. Destinations are chosen based on the group’s fitness level and preferences; popular spots include Nuuksio and Sipoonkorpi area. Suitable for anyone who wants to enjoy nature without having to make their own arrangements.

  • Are you interested in overnight camping, but feeling a little unsure about it? This course is designed just for that. Together, we’ll go over the basics that make a trip enjoyable, rather than leaving them up to guesswork. We’ll explore different tent models, how to set them up, and what suits each person best. A lightweight pyramid, dome, tunnel model, or something else. We’ll also look at sleeping bags and pads, different types of stoves from gas to spirit burners, and try our hand at cooking in the field. Plus, we’ll talk about trip planning: choosing a route, weather considerations, food quantities, and what to pack and what to leave behind.

The goal isn’t to learn everything at once, but to build a foundation that gives you the confidence to set out on your own adventures and know what kind of gear you want. The course lasts about 5 hours. The price includes coffee and tea brewed over an open fire.

  • If you still feel unsure about hiking on your own after the beginner’s course, this 1–2-night trip offers a hands-on opportunity to practice with a guide.

Let’s go on a trip together to a national park, where we’ll practice setting up camp, cooking outdoors, reading trails, and other basic skills in real-world conditions. You’ll receive a comprehensive gear list that you can also use on your own future trips. After the course, you’ll have a solid foundation for setting out on overnight trips on your own.

  • A guided one or two-day running trek with truly ultralight gear. Packing has been kept to a minimum, so the trip will test both your physical fitness and your ability to make smart gear choices. During the day, we’ll cover a good distance by alternating between running and walking, spend the night in a lightweight camp, and continue in the morning.

Suitable for more experienced hikers and runners who want to try a faster way of moving through nature. Requires a solid level of basic fitness and the ability to cover about 20–30 km over rough terrain.

  • A day spent bouldering on natural rock. Bouldering involves climbing short but often challenging routes without ropes, close to the ground and on top of padded crash pads. The guide will go over the basic techniques: footwork, weight distribution, and safe landing. Throughout the day, you’ll try routes of varying difficulty at your own pace and encourage one another.

The guide will provide all the necessary equipment (climbing shoes, crash pads, chalk). No prior experience is required; you just need to be physically fit and willing to push yourself a little.

  • “Back to nature. We only live once. To hell with obligations.”
